So apparently Jaclyn has an obsession with fire. It's like she's an old lady remembering some tragic fire from her childhood or something. She was examining her arms and legs and all of the scabs she has on them and said, "I have lots of bleedings. I got them in the fire."
The kids and I indulged in some slurpees this week to help cool down. While drinking them, Jacey observed, "This is so fun, I wish we could do this forever. But...I know we have to go to Heaven one day." What a buzz kill! ;)
We were driving to church this past sunday and we were cutting it pretty close with the time. Whenever this happens Jeffrey and I always fight about how the morning played out and who's fault it was for why we were late etc. etc. Then, when we got to the parking lot, Jeffrey passed about 4 open spots and parked a little too far away from the door for my liking. Of course, being in the bad mood I was in, I added that to my list of things to argue over. We both stopped talking for a second, just as we were about to get out of the van. In that moment of silence, from the back of the van, Jacey piped up, "I played with my boogy the whole time." We stopped fighting after that. We were too busy laughing.
This is just something cute that Jacey said at our ward's FHE this past monday. Kevin was announcing the evening's itinerary and he mentioned that perhaps there were some that might want to play football in the field. Jacey ran over to me and excitedly said, "Mom guess what? They said we could play football...and I perfectly brought my football!!"

We were outside yesterday and it was way more windy than it's been in a while. We were just sitting on a blanket looking around and Jaclyn casually made the comment, "Heavenly Father's 'wind'-ing the trees."
Jacey and Jaclyn were racing to sit in the kids' rocking chair and Jacey won. Jaclyn started crying and complaining that she didn't get there first. Jacey matter of factly said, "Jaclyn, you should have jamp. I jamp." (past tense for "jump")
I was trying to convince Jacey to eat something he didn't particularly like for dinner last night. I told him that if he wanted to be a missionary like Brett, he needed to practice eating things that he didn't always like. I told him some of the things Brett has already had to eat. Jacey looked disgusted and said, "Then I don't want to go on a mission anymore. I still will, I just won't want to."
During dinner, Jacey observed, "I miss Nana's old house." Jaclyn agreed, "Me too." I said, " Me three." Jacey turned to me and said, "No, you 29." Smart alec!
Jacey, very sincerely, included in his nightly prayer the other day, "Please bless that I can find World 9. That I can be the only one so that I can surprise everyone." He's been a little obsessed with Super Mario Bros. lately.
A while ago, Jaclyn was going for her first sleepover alone to Nana's house. She was so excited and couldn't wait to go! When Nana came to pick her up, she just wanted to get out the door and get the party started. Jeffrey stopped her and had her come give him a big hug goodbye. He picked her up and squeezed her tight. She freaked out and yelled, "Daddy, don't keep me!!"

Jacey said something funny today that reminded me of something he said LONG ago that made me laugh. He was in the middle of being potty trained and was wearing underwear for the first time. He had been running around and playing when all of a sudden he started freaking out and yelled, "Mom, my bum's going crazy!" I ran over to him to discover that he was experiencing his first wedgie.
Today we were eating breakfast and I said something that made my kids laugh. A few seconds later Jacey said, "my bum was so surprised it tooted." The way he talks about his bum like it's a body part that acts on it's own free will and is not dependent of him, reminded me of the first experience.
The other night Jeffrey took Jacey out for a boys' night to go see Kung Fu Panda 2. Sadly it was only in 3D and that was hard for Jacey to handle. About 50 minutes in, Jacey leaned over to Jeffrey and said "Dad, let's go home. We can just download it."
We slept over at Nana and Grandpa's house this past weekend and in the morning while Nana got ready, she dolled Jaclyn all up with curly hair and lipstick. She had also given Jaclyn a new frilly purple skirt and some adorable play high heels. Jeffrey was complimenting her on her beauty, telling her she looked like a princess and Jaclyn's reply was, "I'm going out with a boy."

Don't Ever Want To Forget!
Jeffrey and I have been thinking for a while now that we should start a blog so we can document all of the funny things our kids say and do. At first he said I should just start blogging more of that stuff on my blog, but I feel like not everyone would appreciate it as much as we would. You know, pearls before swine. :) So I decided to dedicate this blog to JUST Jacey and Jaclyn...and soon Thomas. I'm not making it private, because I'm sure there are some who might enjoy a post here or there, but I don't expect anyone to really follow this. It's mostly just for us. I'm also not going to try to backdate and remember past funny things, unless they come to mind and then I'll blog them. For now, I'll just start with today.
I told the kids that they were going to Mandi's on wednesday and if it was nice out, they could swim in their little pool and go in the bouncy house. So Jacey included in his lunch prayer, "Please bless that it won't rain. For real. Like actually for real, I'm not joking."
Jacey and Jaclyn were getting ready to go outside to play and I was helping Jaclyn get her sandals on. Her pinky toe got stuck and I said, "Oh, oops! Your pinky toe!" and she said "No, my purple toe!" She was wearing purple nail polish.
While playing outside, a mosquito was buzzing around Jaclyn's face and she freaked out. I told her to just brush it away. She said, "OK, I'll push it away and then I'll knock it dead." Soon after, it started to thunder and she came running in and said, "Mom, I hear the storm, and it knocked me dead!"
Jacey and Jaclyn were spitting at each other and thought it was hilarious. Jaclyn took it right in the face and decided it wasn't a fun game anymore. She yelled at Jacey, "Hey, don't spit at me. It's not kind and it makes me really greasy!!"

Actually, while I've been writing, I've remembered that I facebooked a few more the other day. I'll include those too.
Thomas was crying and Jeffrey was rocking him and trying to soothe him. He started singing "Don't worry, be happy" to him. Jacey came over and leaned right into Thomas' face and said, "Don't worry, Daddy will stop singing soon."
Thomas was crying a few days later and Jaclyn started rubbing his face and said, "It's okay, someone won't shoot you." She did the same thing a few more times throughout the week, but said "someone won't put you in a fire" instead. ????? :)
